Hints

The hint function is one of the tools that can help improve sales. Using the function, the system reminds the cashier to suggest that the guest should add a dish to the order or to simply perform a certain action. For example:

  • Suggest that the guest should try a new dish or propose an expensive dish which is hard to sell.
  • Add another item so that a special offer can be applied.
  • Add a side dish, for example, a sauce to French fries.

You can set up displaying tips in any active special offers using the Hint action. For this:

  1. When creating a special offer in the Action block, click Create and choose Tip.
  2. In the pop-up box:
    1. Enter the tip text. It shall not exceed two lines. Each line has a maximum length of 60 characters.
    2. Press Create and specify SKU of the dish which can be offered to a guest by a cashier.

  1. Click Save.

For example, you want the cashier to be prompted to offer ordering a sauce with a pizza. For this:

  1. Create a program at the iiko.biz portal.
  2. Create condition Number of Dishes in the Order is More than or Equal to.
  3. Add the required dish to the condition settings, for example, the pizza.

  1. Add the Hint action.
  2. Enter the hint text and add the sauce that should be ordered if the pizza is in the order.

  1. Save the settings.

The hint will be displayed as follows:

  1. The guest makes an order that includes the pizza. Once the pizza has been added, the hint is displayed.

  1. Click the sauce name button. It will be added to the order immediately.

  1. Accept the payment and close the order.

The hint can simply remind the cashier to perform an action. For example, ask the guest to present document ID if the guest orders alcohol. In order to configure such a hint:

  1. Create a program at the iiko.biz portal.
  2. Create condition Number of Dishes in the Order is More than or Equal to.
  3. Add a mask for dishes of the Alcohol category to the condition settings.

  1. Add the Hint action and enter the hint text.

  1. Save the changes made.

When you add an alcoholic drink to the order, you will see a reminder to make sure the guest presents document ID.
